WASHINGTON, April 9, 2017 – Twenty persons have been attacked at Franklin Regional High School, in Murrysville, Pa about 50 miles east of Pittsburgh. Twenty students have been taken to hospitals, four flown in critical condition but all in serious condition with stab and slashing wounds to the back, chest, abdomen and other body areas.

One suspect, a sixteen year old male, sophomore student, is in custody. The assailant has not been identified but reports are that he had two knives and was seen going down the crowded hallway, filled with arriving student, slashing and stabbing at other students.

A sixty year old custodian at the school was stabbed trying to stop the boy.  The resource officer at the school handcuffed the student and restrained him until first responders arrived according to Thomas Seefeld, Chief of Police, Murreysville.  There are some reports that the student may have had an argument with another student the night before.
