Mother’s Day: cocktails and mocktails to toast her day

FORT WORTH, Texas: Mother’s Day is just around the corner on Sunday, May 13th.
We pay tribute the second Sunday of each May to our mothers, mother figures, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, stepmothers, and foster mothers. We’ve been doing so as a nation since 1914, when Woodrow Wilson signed the holiday into law.
How do we celebrate our moms? According to Timeanddate.com:
“Many people send cards or gifts to their mother or mother figure or make a special effort to visit her. Common Mother’s Day gifts are flowers, chocolate, candy, clothing, jewelry and treats, such as a beauty treatment or trip to a spa. Some families organize an outing for all of their members or hold a special meal at home or in a restaurant. In the days and weeks before Mother’s Day, many schools help their pupils to prepare a handmade card or small gift for their mothers.”
Most of us have offered and taken part of one of the accolades. But no matter what kind of delights planned for her one of these cocktails will be sure to strike her fancy. She doesn’t drink alcohol? No problem; one of them is a refreshing non-alcoholic mocktail.
And the best part of all? They’re only 15 calories!
The recipes are courtesy of Jordan’s Skinny Mixes. Their web page says they were inspired to develop and share products that don’t break the caloric bank. Jordan’s has both non-alcoholic and alcoholic recipes. This way folks can enjoy their favorite concoctions without guilt. They’re easy to make too. Cheers!
