ST LOUIS, March 19, 2016 – America has abandoned its founding principals. We are miles from the vales of patriotism, integrity, working for your money, positive political environment, moral conduct, leader of the free world, legal immigration, crime, drugs, and so much more .
Patriotism has evaporated. Today, people freely burn the flag and ignore our Constitution. Americans no longer stand tall with pride for our country during the Pledge of Allegiance, and some venues have eliminated the Pledge along with prayer. The most patriotic group our nation has is its armed forces.
Another value, integrity, and its sisters of honesty and sincerity are lost. Our leaders have set the tone of lying to us directly to our faces, so the people happily follow along.
The positive feeling of a hard day of work has been replaced with the desire for free handouts. Welfare is a form of making money without working. During the depression, people actually earned a government check by working on various government projects such as building dams, highways and so much more. Today we have families who for generations live on welfare, with no government oversight or incentive to make changes.
There is no leadership. America, once the leader of the free world, no longer leads anything. Iran and Russia have stepped in to fill the void of leadership in the Middle East, pushing the US out of the way. Around the world, America has been relegated to second or third place, no longer the moral and proud world leader.
Our borders are wide open, with little control. There is no longer a difference between legal and immigration because anyone who wants to come in just walks across the border.
Security is a thing of the past. Not only are our borders open, we don’t have the manpower to fight terrorists. Our politicians have disarmed our law enforcement, our FBI and our CIA, and made it impossible to fight terrorists.
Domestically, crime is exploding, and the police are not respected for what they do to protect us. They are afraid to get tough on crime because politicians have set a precedent of blaming police for any problems rather than investigating what actually happened.
Drugs are everywhere in the country, and have been for years. Demand keeps growing, and it is impacting our culture and hurting our children.
While there are no easy answers, there is an easy start: elect a president who can lead, who is honest, who has integrity. Elect a leader who appoints good people to his cabinet, and selects an attorney general focused on solving crimes, not playing politics. Support the Constitution and end the political games.
Is that really so hard to figure out? It seems like America deserves better. And it starts at the top.
However, that’s a time and place I am from-
