CHICAGO, July 27, 2016 – A disturbing video posted on You Tube suggests that Judge Lisa Gorcyca of Oakland County, Michigan may have placed children in an abusive home.
The video starts with the statement, “My name is Sabrina and I have lived with my mother all my life.” It then goes on to say, “18 months ago my brother and I were abruptly taken from our mother and placed to live with my father in Michigan out of spite.”
“Cases in Michigan require the court to evaluate the sum of following 12 best interest factors,” the video continues. “Judge Gorcyca took none of them into consideration and that is what happened.”
In the next shot, the video shows the twelve factors which are supposed to be considered, including the right to choose your religion, the right to healthcare, the right to privacy and the right to be free from sexual abuse.
The video alleges that “Sabrina’s” father demands she practice Islam, and that he suggests she will go to hell if she is any other religion.
“Judge Gorcyca believes it’s in our best interest to live with our father, who refuses to continue to provide needed allergy shots, dental hygiene, after care for c-diff and personal needs for young women.”
“Judge Gorcyca believed it was in our best interest to be placed with our father who beat our mother while she held us in one hand and was pregnant in the other. [sic] He was convicted of abuse.”
“When my father’s friends came over I was expected to stay indoors or upstairs in my room. I was always expected to cook and clean because I am a girl.”
“I was called lazy because I didn’t know how to clean; I was looked down on when I wore my own clothing by my father.”
“Judge Gorcyca believed it was in our best interest to put us with our father who says our mother will burn in hell; he calls our mama ‘bitch’ and ‘whore.’ He tells us our mother doesn’t want us.”
Gorcyca has faced criticism for her decisions in other cases, including the Tsimhoni custody case and the Flowers case. In the Tsimhoni case, Gorcyca ordered the children to juvenile detention after they refused to have lunch with their father, who they claim is an abuser.
The last name of the children was not disclosed in the You Tube video and a message sent by CDN to a Twitter account affiliated with the video was left unreturned.
