WASHINGTON, December 20, 2016 – The disturbing divorce and custody case involving Sandra Grazzini-Rucki continues to take bizarre turns.

In the latest twist, a child-support statement from Dakota County shows that Grazzini-Rucki is $14,663.24 in arrears in child support.

The statement seems excessive, given that the child support order requiring Grazzini-Rucki to pay $975 a month was set in October.

Moreover, Judge Maria Pastoor’s order specifically excluded the time Grazzini-Rucki was in jail.

“The Mother’s support obligations shall be suspended when and if she is incarcerated,” Pastoor’s order stated.

Grazzini-Rucki was incarcerated from November 2015 to March 2016 and has spent time in parts of September, October, and November.

Yet another question involves the assignment of child support against Grazzini-Rucki. Her ex-husband,  David Rucki, is a multi-millionaire who lives in the posh suburb of Lakeville, Minnesota.

David Rucki claimed to be on public assistance and said he had transferred his trucking business to his sister who paid him $5,000 monthly; previous years’ tax returns showed Rucki made seven figures regularly.

Grazzini-Rucki was convicted in September of parental deprivation stemming from her hiding two of her daughters from her ex-husband.

Her two daughters, Gianna and Samantha, stayed voluntarily at a horse farm for abused children for about two and a half years- from April 2013 until November 2015, when they were found.

David Rucki was given sole custody of their five children despite a history violence including a bar fight in 1994, a road rage incident in 2014, him threatening to hire the Hell’s Angels to rough up his ex-wife, and a Child Protective Services report that his oldest son, Nico, claimed when he was eight years old that his father stuck a gun in his face.

Grazzini-Rucki was deemed a parent alienator and all allegations of abuse were dismissed by court professionals even though each of the five Rucki children all said at the time their father was an abuser.

Nico Rucki now claims his father is not violent and has never seen him be violent toward anyone.

The custody trial judge, David Knutson, awarded sole custody to David Rucki after forcing Sandra Grazzini-Rucki’s attorney to continue with the custody trial though she was handcuffed in a wheel chair and her notes, computer, glasses, shoes, and client were all missing for that portion of the trial.

Requests for comment from David Rucki’s attorney, Lisa Elliott, were unreturned.

Grazzini-Rucki’s custody has received overwhelming media attention, including being featured on ABC’s “20/20.”
