WASHINGTON, September 16, 2014 — The Iggy Azalea sex tape saga continues.

Azalea’s ex-boyfriend is now claiming he was given permission to market the sex tape by the Australian singer.

As the ex-manager for Azalea, Hefe Wine has a signed contract from 2009 providing him with exclusive rights to “manufacture, sell, distribute and advertise ‘any’ recording embodying visual images”, according to TMZ.

The contract was signed by Azalea to allow Wine to distribute music and the associated videos, but the former manager believes that all he has to do is put music to the sex tape and then he legally will have the exclusive rights to distribute the tape.

Iggy Azalea is fighting back through twitter initially tweeting

“I dont have a sex tape but for the record…

“Anyone who releases or attempts to make profit off someone else’s intimate moments against their will is a sex offender.”

Last week, an attorney representing Azalea told TMZ that it could be his client in the video with an ex-boyfriend, but added more fuel to the gossip fire by stating that there is a chance that she was a minor at the time and filmed without her consent opening up the chance for a legal case against Wine.

The rapper herself has continued to stay above the fray again only commenting through twitter, posting,

“It honestly makes me sick to see the media encourage any other attitude towards those sorts of people, we should want to protect our women.”

“and i really hope that america will follow Europe and their laws to better protect peoples privacy and fundamental rights.”

For anyone wondering why one would want a sex tape released, there is no need to look any further than Kim Kardashian.

Kardashian only became a household name after a sex tape staring Kim and then boyfriend Ray J. came out in 2007.

Although Ray J. was already making a career as a hip hop artist when the tape, made in 2003 when Kardashian was 18, came out, it was Kim whose fame skyrocketed.

The 40 minute film caught the attention of Vivid Entertainment the largest distributor of adult videos.

The private settlement between Kardashian and Vivid Entertainment which reportedly earned the socialite $5 million and superstardom.

In June 2012, the soon to be ex-husband Kris Humphies told a girlfriend that the sex tape was staged by Kardashian’s mother and manager, Kris Jenner. Humphries claimed that her mother told her to make a sex tape and even made her film it again because the first attempt was not good enough.

The head of Vivid Entertainment has speculated that the Azalea tape could earn more than the Kardashian tape did in sales.

Paris Hilton’s sex tape earned her publicity that money couldn’t buy.

Hilton’s tape was leaked coincidentally just before the launch of her reality series.

The hotel heiress claimed being completely embarrassed and concerned about damage done to her family name by the tape but the timing made many suspicious that the entire incident was a well timed publicity stunt.

Talk of the tape made a celebrity of Paris Hilton, who seems to otherwise have no noticeable talent or ability.

Releasing a sex tape does not always make a career.

Dustin Diamond, the actor who used to play Screech in Saved by the Bell, filmed and leaked a sex tape in the hope of reviving his career in show business.

Unfortunately for Diamond, it was dubbed the worst sex tape ever and instead of creating positive buzz, created new negative feelings for the actor.

Where he used to be thought of as a lovable nerd, with the release of the tape he just became known as creepy.

The case worst scenario for sex tapes comes with what is believed to be the first one.

When at the Democratic National Convention in Atlanta in 1988, Rob Lowe left a nightclub and went back to his hotel room with two young women and recorded their encounter.

According to Lowe, when he came back into the room after using the bathroom, the girls and the tape were gone.

A few weeks later, Lowe received a letter from a lawyer explaining that one of the girls was 16 and her mother was now in possession of the tape and preparing to sue.

Although 16 was the legal age of consent in Georgia, Lowe claims to have been unaware of her young age.

The fallout from this tape was all negative and almost ruined Lowes career. Directors and producers refused to hire him because they did not want to be associated in any way with the sex scandal.

Lowe now says the experience actually saved his life because he hit bottom and was able to see what drugs and alcohol was doing to his life and was able to get sober.

Since Lowe’s experience, sex tapes are no longer unusual or shameful.

It has yet to be determined what the latest tape will do for Azalea and Wine, but it is not a stretch to believe that Wine is hoping for a surge in popularity.
