WASHINGTON, July 10,2 015 – San Diego Comic-Con has given us a few trailers for the upcoming Fear the Walking Dead six episode mini-series spinoff airs August 23, a start date that gets the origin series started before Sunday Night Football gets in the way starting September 13.

Chris Hardwick will host a special “Talking Dead” episode at 8pm that night preceding the “Fear the Walking Dead” premiere at 9pm.

“Fear the Walking Dead,” set in Los Angeles a has been handed a straight-to-series, two-season order by AMC in March with a full season of shows slated for 2016, Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey star in the spinoff. The show benefits from executive producer Robert Kirkman and his “Walking Dead” team, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert.

Dave Erickson will exec produce and serve as showrunner. Erickson and Kirkman co-created and co-wrote the pilot.

What do we know about the world then? Its the start of the epidemic, people are blissfully clueless as to what is happening around them.

And they are having a hard time understanding that zombie dead, is bad dead.  Just look at the flowers Lizzie.

One thing we know is that people start dying, and then getting up again. And as Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) says “When civilization ends, it ends fast…”

Fear The Walking Dead is scheduled to premier August 23rd at 9pm, preceded by Chris Hardwick’s “Talking Dead Season 6 Preview Special”

AMC has announced an October 11th premiere date for the 90-minute sixth season premiere “The Walking Dead”.  In the lead up to the new season, AMC will air a full season of the show every Sunday for five Sundays of binge watching starting July 26th.

But the really cherry on the zombie cake is the teaser for season 6 of The Walking Dead… and if you watch closely… there is plenty to see and one thing is certain. Rick has reached new levels of dangerous.

There is a definite season of discontent inside the metal walls of Alexandria as threats from the undead and the Wolves esculate.  There seems to be plenty of folks challenging Rick – possibly Daryl, Carol and absolutely Morgan. Maybe. The is no doubt a difference of opinion when it comes to survival between Rick and Morgan.

The premier could be called “Calling Crazy Rick” as he has that same killed or be killed crazy eye thing circa the Claimers when they going to kill Daryl and Michonne in front of Rick then rape Carl, going on.

If you remember that is where Rick removed the Joe’s juglar, with his teeth at the end of Season 4.

What we do see is that the Wolves grab Daryl – which was not a smart move on their part. Morgan is in Alexandria and he is providing a moral compass for Rick’s over the top zombie insanity. Deanna is firmly on Team Rick. We see a young woman as Zombie dinner – and at first I thought it was Maggie however close screenings of the woman on the ground’s top and other screen shots we see, it seems that more than a few Alexandrines end up dead.

But not Maggie or Glen – at least what we can see in this clip.

We see the wall around Alexandria being expanded, along with the Zombie herds. Notable folks missing include Father Gabriel who slipped out of sanity at the end of last season. With Morgan in Alexandria maybe we will not have to put up with Gabriel’s simpering stupidity this season.

Show creator Robert Kirkman promises a heart-stopping first episode to open Season 6. Thanks to the bandages on Rick’s face and the blood still on Deanna’s hand, we know they are picking the show up within moment of where Season 5 left off.
