WASHINGTON, May 1, 2016 – Bran Stark returns to “Game of Thrones” in Sunday’s episode, titled “Home.” It’s the first time we have seen Bran since 2014, and he has grown.
In his absence Bran spent his time developing his skills (some would say magic) as a warg, and a green seer.
A warg is someone who can enter the minds of animals. A green seer has greensight, and can interact with visions both from the past beyond his lifespan, and into the future.
Guiding him in all this is the most powerful character in the series so far, the “Three Eyed Raven,” played by veteran actor Max Von Sydow.
Now that Bran has learned what to do with his powers, what will he choose to do?
Which is just one of the many questions as Sansa, Theon, Bran, Arya and, possibly, Jon Snow seem to makeing steps to be heading back to the House Stark of Winterfell.
But first there is season six to deal with.
Heading to House Greyjoy is Theon, his sister Yara and their father, King Balon Greyjoy of the Iron Islands. Balon is a ruthless pirate, and more than a little crazy.
Queen Cercei, House of Lannister is back home realizing that the prophecy that heralded the death of her children (with brother Jamie Lannister) is coming true. Will her remaining child, King Tommen escape alive? Will Queen Margaery head home from the prison of the High Sparrow.
And what of Daenerys Targaryen and Prince Tyrion?
You really do need an expert to follow the various houses, characters, intrigue and mysticism. Watch tonight’s episode (and every week) with GOT expert Gayle Falkenthal who will provide commentary as to what has happened, is happening and the parallels to the George R.R. Martin books.
Everyone knows the threat from the White Walkers lurks there beyond the Wall; Ramsey better think carefully about putting himself in their way.
No doubt Episode 2 will start or advance several plotlines, setting fans up for big payoffs a few more episodes down. Be patient, GOT fans.
