CHARLOTTE, NC: Who among us has not wished at one time or another to chuck it all, quit your job and head out on a journey to pursue your wildest dream? Well, perhaps there’s a way to do just thanks to prAna, a California-based sustainable clothing company that sells apparel containing recycled content, hemp, and organic fibers.
As part of prAna’s international marketing strategy, the company is offering $100,000 to someone with a passion to quit their job to pursue their dream, whatever it may be.
The rules are simple but specific.
- Don’t quit your day job: First and foremost, prAna tells participants not to quit just because they entered the contest. The winner will resign their current employment position to pursue their dream job. Generating updates of their journey along the way.
- To enter, applicants must be at least 21 years old.
- Contestants are asked to submit a video between 30 and 180 seconds in length describing their current job and what their dream career pursuit would be.
According to prAna, the key is originality, so they encourage entrants to demonstrate their “passion in action.” An aspiring filmmaker could share a sample of their work, while a pastry chef might create and display some fabulous new culinary dishes, for example.
Submissions must be received by September 16. A panel of prAna representatives will review the videos. Decisions will be based on quality, originality, boldness, personality, and passion/enthusiasm.
The winner will be named around October 17.
The company concludes by saying:
“At prAna, we know from experience that personal growth often lies outside your comfort zone. And sometimes, all you need is a friendly nudge to help you make that leap. That’s why we’re looking for one courageous person willing to quit their current job to pursue their lifelong passion. We’ll support your decision with a $100k prize to help get your dream off the ground.”
