LONG BEACH, CA: I first created Walk with Me Wednesday as a way to maintain my 156 lb. weight loss. I have Spina bifida and am missing a heel bone from my left foot which makes me walk weird. But after starting our YouTube channel I realized there must be others like me who need to be encouraged to get up and spend time on their health like I did. Maybe just a bit of encouragement might change someone’s perspective.
Now, I realize spending ten minutes a week on exercise is not changing anyone’s world, but over time it might just change the mindset of some.

If you change your mindset it can change your life! This is something I know a lot about and it goes much deeper than not wanting to exercise. I was in so much pain I couldn’t get up and walk two years ago. Some people are in prison in their own bodies like me, and for so many others it might take surgery to change that. For me it was gastric sleeve surgery and I would do it over again; I got my life back!
Walk with Me Wednesday is so fun for me, not to mention therapeutic, and gets me and my family members out and about together. I started simply by walking around my own block, and then blossomed into going other places I enjoy, like the beaches.

Since I live in Southern California I live next to a lot of scenic places to walk. I have taken folks to the duck pond near me, two different beaches, an exercise park, and even to the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
So plug us in to your iPod or mobile phone and take a walk with me even if you don’t need to lose weight.
