WASHINGTON, February 18, 2015 – Left wing idiocy has trumped terrorism as the most dangerous phenomenon running loose among us. This time, the stupidity is not spewing from “Bagdhad Bob,” but another dumb blonde. Here’s the clip:

Clearly, MSNBC reality TV-style journalism just fell through the bottom of the barrel in this telling exchange. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf actually told “Hardball” hard head Chris Matthews that killing terrorists is not the answer to stopping them. Instead, according to Harf, the best solution to stopping terror is providing the beheading maniacs with jobs:

“[w]e cannot win this fight by killing them. We cannot kill our way out of this war… Right now, what we’re doing is trying to take their leaders and their fighters off the battlefield in Iraq and Syria… We’re killing a lot of them. And we’re going to keep killing more of them. So are the Egyptians, so are the Jordanians; they’re in this fight with us. But we cannot win this fight by killing them. We cannot kill our way out of this war. We need, in the…medium and longer term, to go after the root causes that lead people to join these groups, whether it’s lack of opportunity for jobs…We can work with countries around the world to help improve their governance… [and] We can help them build their economies so they can have job opportunities for these people.”

Just when you think you have seen and heard it all, the State Department pinpoints the real motivation behind Islamic terrorists slaughtering Christians and Jews across the Middle East and waging war against the world: Terrorists lack job opportunity! Who knew?

Imagine FDR and Harry Truman ordering Generals George Patton and Douglas MacArthur “Gentlemen, we cannot kill our way out of this war, we need to give the Nazis and Japanese jobs.”

For once, Chris Matthews’ tingling shiver was stifled and common sense temporarily intervened: “We’re not going to be able to stop that in our lifetime or fifty lifetimes,” declared Matthews. “There’s always going to be poor people. There’s always going to be poor Muslims, and as long as there are poor Muslims, the trumpet’s blowing and they’ll join. We can’t stop that, can we?”

“We can work with countries around the world to help improve their governance,” Harf insisted, “We can help them build their economies so they can have job opportunities for these people.”

Note to Marie Harf: Terrorists actually do have jobs. As terrorists. They are paid with funds derived from numerous lawless activities, including ransoms, extortion, and profits from illegally smuggling oil and anything else they can lay their hands on.

Moreover, terrorists will commit acts of terror even if they are never paid, because they believe in what they regard as the strict interpretation of calls by Islam and the Koran to undertake violence.

Quran 2:216: “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not…”

This is part of Islam’s religious ideology, not economics.

Apparently, the Obama Administration will continue its blatant disregard of the facts. Allowing misinformed and inaccurate spokespeople like Harf to bloviate on foreign policy and national security is a grave mistake.
