SAN DIEGO, May 8, 2016 – Following the double elimination of Von Miller and Lindsay Arnold, and a stunned Kim Fields and Sasha Farber, we are down to six couples who cannot have a single misstep if they want to reach the Season 22 finals of “Dancing With The Stars.”
This week, the couples dance their individual routines, which will be one of these four traditional and challenging ballroom styles: Viennese Waltz, Argentine Tango, Jive or Paso Doble.
For their second performance, we get something new from DWTS. The show describes is as the Judges Team Up Challenge.” It isn’t the judges teaming up. Each judge chooses two couples along with their song, dance style, and the creative presentation including staging and costuming. The judges will also coach their chosen couples. Then the pairs go head to head to vie for extra points. As part of their routines, each star will have to dance by themselves on stage for a portion of their routine. Got all that?
Judges will be paired with the following couples:
Carrie Ann: Antonio Brown & Sharna Burgess, and Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas
Len Goodman: Wanyá Morris & Lindsay Arnold, and Ginger Zee & Valentin Chmerkovskiy
Bruno Tonioli: Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd, and Jodie Sweetin & Keo Motsepe
The two remaining judges will score and you the fans will step in as the third judge. To participate, viewers must visit abc.com to score the performances. A combined overall viewer score for each performance will be counted alongside the judges’ score. You score the performance just once, and you only have a two minutes and 15 second window, beginning at the start of each routine. So you need to move fast.
The assignments in alphabetical order are:
Antonio and Sharna: Viennese Waltz, “Love on the Brain” by Rihanna
Ginger and Val: Argentine Tango, “Telephone” by Lady Gaga f. Beyonce
Jodie and Keo: Jive, “Something’s Got a Hold On Me” by Christina Aguilera
Nyle and Peta: Paso Doble, “Victorious” by Panic at the Disco
Paige and Mark: Viennese Waltz, “Stone Cold” by Demi Lovato
