SAN DIEGO, April 26, 2015 – No one’s head rests easy in Westeros, especially not those in power. No “Game of Thrones” fan can relax either, wondering what might happen to his or her favorite characters during season 5.
Every kingdom seems to be suffering some sort of turmoil. The people of Meereen are angry at their new Queen and Mhysa, Daenerys Targaryen. Even though she freed them from slavery, her dragon is terrorizing them and she took away their fighting pits fun.
Cersei Baratheon’s father and oldest son are dead, her brother Tyrion is a murderer on the lam, and her daughter is at the mercy of a family that is very angry with her for killing their brother, Prince Oberyn. She also has to worry about protecting her youngest son, Tommen, from the ambitious widowed daughter-in-law, Margaery Tyrell.
The ruling family in Dorne wants revenge for their dead brother and father, Prince Oberyn. Don’t we all? His daughters, called the “Sand Snakes,” know their way around a whip, a spear and a sword. Meet them in the video below.
Jon Snow is the new leader of the Night’s Watch, but the current peace in the North is fragile and dependent in part on a partnership with Stannis Baratheon, who has eyes on a bigger prize: the Iron Throne.
The Stark sisters are both heading for unknown futures. But Sansa and Arya have grown up before our eyes, and there is hope that both will take charge of their lives and have a chance to seek vengeance for their family.
Observing it all keenly is the High Sparrow, King’s Landing’s top religious leader. His following is growing, and so is his influence. Is he a holy man or a holy terror?
