WASHINGTON, October 20, 2017 – Country Music’s Keith Urban 22nd No. 1 hit “Blue Ain’t Your Color” is the fourth single, and fourth chart-topping song for the country star. First released on his 2016 album Ripcord, Urban was not the artist that writers Hillary Lindsey, Clint Lagerberg and Steven Lee Olsen, originally had in mind.
But there is little doubt that Nicole Kidman’s husband made this song his.
Urban performed the song at the CMT Awards at the Nashville Symphony Hall , a rather intimate room perfect for the stripped-down jazz version of the song. Keith took the guitar part and was backed up by a piano, trumpet, bass and drums. The drum brushes and trumpet player added layers of sound to Urban’s strong guitar and voice.
On Urban’s eighth solo release, Ripcord, the country mega star delivered a country album with lots of electro-pop and drum loops. Showing his versatility, Urban teamed with disco’s Nile Rodgers and rap’s Pitbull on “Sun Don’t Let Me Down,” which has a delightful Bruno Mars like pop sensibility:

It is a definitive change in musical style for Urban once again proving his ability to tackle something new.
Urban is working on his next album. The aforementioned Mrs. Urban told Entertainment Tonight that she is “dancing around the house” anxious for the final release.
