WASHINGTON: Radio talk show and Fox News host Laura Ingraham is under fire from the lefty adult cynics hiding behind the insufferable child, David Hogg, aka “Boss Hogg”. It appears the L’Enfant terrible of gun control went ballistic after Ingraham tweeted that the tiresome tot is having difficulty getting accepted into the college of his choice than he is getting sympathetic, fake-news headlines.

David Hogg speaks on gun-control policy, C-SPAN screen capture.
The non-offensive offense in the eyes of David Hogg
“David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA… totally predictable given acceptance rates.),” said Ingraham.
Fox’s “The Ingraham Angle” host also provided a link to the Daily Wire story (HERE):
“… Four different campuses in the University of California school system have turned him [Hogg] down: UC Los Angeles, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine.”
David Hogg fifteen minutes of fame extension
As tweets go, it was rather tame. Ingraham only repeated what appeared online, with Hogg telling the Daily Wire his true passion may lie elsewhere:
“I think there’s a lot of amazing people that don’t get to college, not only that do things like I do but because their voices just aren’t heard in the tsunami of people that apply every year to colleges in such an economic impacted school system here.”
It sounds like master Hogg would like to extend his fifteen minutes of fame as a teenage heartthrob “activist.” Fame built on the remains of 17 dead students and teachers, turning his activism into a full-time gig.
And now a word from our sponsor
But Boss Hogg, as is true for many on the left, is a tad thin skinned. He tweeted:
“Soooo @IngrahamAgle what are your biggest advertisers… asking for a friend. #BoycottIngramAdverts.”
Of Ingraham’s approximately 120 advertisers, only 15 have bailed thus far, the first being Nutrish, a dog treat company founded by Food Network star (“E-V-O-O!”) Rachel Ray.
“This generation is not playing around,” noted Melissa Webster at the hard-left Dailykos, “they are not susceptible to bullshit talking points. They grew up in the Internet age of cyber bullies and know how to deal with it. These kids fully understand their power.”
A clueless capitulation
Laura Ingraham, unfortunately, doesn’t quite understand she’s the one who holds the power and yielded to the “safe space” snowflake:
“On reflection,” tweeted Ingraham, “in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland.”
According to AdWeek, Ingraham and fellow Fox hosts Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and Shannon Bream “posted their largest average audiences for a month (total viewers & adults 25-54) since launching or moving into their respective timeslots last fall.”
Advertisers who boycott Ingraham deny themselves a healthy revenue stream from the well-heeled, cash-in-hand adults glued to Fox.
“As TV ratings continue to dwindle,” observed AdAge, “Fox News continues to be one of the few places pulling large live audiences on a nightly basis.”
Excuse me while I break my Keurig
When coffee maker Keurig pulled its advertising from Fox’s “Hannity” show, loyal viewers posted photos and video clips of themselves smashing the iconic Vermont java brewer.
Keurig CEO Bob Gamgort, in a memo to his employees, claimed his company’s Hannity boycott was merely an internal failure to communicate:
“Clearly, this is an unacceptable situation that requires an overhaul of our issues response and external communications policies and the introduction of safeguards to ensure this never happens again. Our company and brand reputations are too valuable to be put at risk in this manner.”
In essence, Gamgort threw his social media team under the bus. The buck, in direct contradiction to Harry Truman’s famous dictum, does not stop with Keurig’s top barista.
Money talks
Ingraham’s needless turning of the other cheek only encourages the emotional adolescents of the left; those who can’t sell their message and attempt to muzzle the ones who can.
Ridicule, Ingraham should know, is an effective battering ram against the sand-castle arguments of the left. And we must also remember that Boss Hogg is demanding Americans relinquish the second most cherished civil right next to free speech: the right to bear arms.
Nonetheless, “Money talks,” it’s said, and revenue-generators like Laura Ingraham need to stop apologizing to the shrill, bombastic and intellectually-destitute bubble heads the likes of Boss Hogg.
Boycott the Boycotters
And viewers need to boycott the boycotters. There are options to Rachel Ray, Progressive, Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé, Hulu, Jenny Craig, Ruby Tuesday and Miracle-Ear.
Most noteworthy is that many of those options are better. And these boycotters leaving Ingraham’s show, they are just opening the door to other advertisers who will benefit from access to the vast Fox audience.
