Washington’s Shakespeare Theatre Company announces the second extension of David Ives adaptation of Piron’s classic 1738 French farce at the Lansburgh.

WASHINGTON, March 4, 2015 – This news release just in from Washington’s Shakespeare Theatre:

“The Shakespeare Theatre Company announces a second extension of its current production of ‘The Metromaniacs,’ by David Ives, directed by Michael Kahn. ‘The Metromaniacs,’ previously extended to Sunday, March 15, will play five additional performances, Thursday, March 19 through Sunday, March 22, at the Lansburgh Theatre…

“David Ives has adapted ‘The Metromaniacs’ in a manner that breathes fresh life into the story, giving it crisp, modern language for contemporary audiences, and infusing it with wit and clever wordplay, all set in rhyming verse.

“Since beginning previews on February 3 and opening February 9, ‘The Metromaniacs’ has delighted audiences and critics alike…”

Additional performances of the play are scheduled as follows: Thursday, March 19 at 8 p.m.; 
Friday, March 20 at 8 p.m.; 
Saturday, March 21 at 2 p.m.;
 Saturday, March 21 at 8 p.m.; and
Sunday, March 22 at 2 p.m.
