SAN DIEGO, November 8, 2015 – No rest for the couples as they head for the finish line on “Dancing With The Stars.” Just a half dozen competitors are left, and they all believe they have the chance to win Season 21’s Mirror Ball Trophy. They will all have to perform two dances per week from here out. This week, couples all perform an individual dance in a new style to them. Then each couple will pair up with another couple to dance a “Duet Dance.”
To ‘inspire’ them, DWTS sent the paired up pairs on a little trip.
Nick Carter, Sharna Burgess, Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy made a quick trip to Las Vegas to see the Cirque du Soleil show “Love” featuring the music of the Beatles. Alek Skarlatos, Lindsay Arnold, Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson visited the brand new Royal Caribbean cruise ship “Anthem of the Seas” while docked at its home port of Bayonne, New Jersey. Can we say product placement, ABC? A production of the musical “We Will Rock You” is being performed on board the ship. Alexa PenaVega, Mark Ballas, Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough saw a performance of the musical “Chicago” for their inspiration.
ABC’s official website for “Dancing With The Stars” promises “Big inspiration will undoubtedly mean supersized routines, elaborate costumes and lots of steps to impress the judges.”
Since there is no mention of immunity, extra judges’ points or any other twists, it seems each couple has the potential to earn two scores of 30 points, one for the individual dance and one for their Duet routine. No guest judges named this week. There is a guest host for this week’s “All Access” show online. Former competitor and Backstreet Boy Joey Fatone will sit in this week.
Join Communities for our weekly Live Online Chat on Monday at 8 p.m. ET to see how the couples perform in their quest to make the finals. That Mirror Ball Trophy is shining in the distance.
