WASHINGTON, February 26, 2014 – Tonight’s the night for the “Lucky 13” as American Idol’s Top 13 finalists put it all on the line in the show’s thirteenth season finale—a two night event that concludes Thursday, February 27.
Returning for this week’s final showdown are the Finalists who made it through last week’s competition including Ben Briley, C.J. Harris, Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Jessica Meuse, MK Nobilette, Kristen O’Connor, Emily Piriz, Alex Preston, Dexter Roberts, Majesty Rose, Malaya Watson and Sam Woolf.
Tonight, the finalists will perform songs that attempt to convey the message “This is Me!” After the nationwide TV audience gets a chance to hear all the contestants, fans of the show will, for the first time, be able to vote for their favorite contestants directly on Google.
Google has now “made voting for your favorite Idol contestant easy, visual, and interactive,” according to a recent press release. Here’s how it works:
Search: Visit google.com or any Google Search App, and search for “american idol” or “idol” during designated voting times.
Vote: Add up to 50 votes per contestant. Vote for as many contestants as you want.
Submit Your Vote: Click “submit” to send your votes to American Idol. Once you’re done, you can watch American Idol videos on YouTube and share your thoughts on Google+.
Thursday, February 27, after the voting has been tallied, one of the Top 13 finalists will be declared the winner. In addition, American Idol’s Season 12 winner, Candice Glover will return to the Idol stage to perform a medley from her debut album, “Music Speaks,” including her hit songs “Cried” and “Same Kinda Man.” Acclaimed singer Jake Bugg is also scheduled to perform.
So fasten your seatbelts and get ready for an exciting finale.
This two-part season finale airs beginning tonight, Wednesday, February 26 from 8-10 p.m. EST live and later on Pacific Time via tape delay. The concluding episode will run Thursday, February 27 from 8-9 p.m. EST live and again at a later time via tape delay for West Coast viewers.Click here for reuse options!
