AC/DC Rock or Bust World Tour set to shake the Verizon Center March 17

Written By | Dec 15, 2015

WASHINGTON, December 14, 2015 – AC/DC Rock or Bust World Tour dates include a March 17 show at Washington, DC’s Verizon Center. Tickets go on sale December 18 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

AC/DC is of one of rock n’ roll’s most durable bands. Lead guitarist Angus Young has anchored AC/DC through numerous member changes over the years. The band, with their signature heavy rock and strong blues influence first unfortunate change was lead singer Bon Scott who died as a result of alcohol poisoning in 1980.

He was quickly replaced by Brian Johnson, who has kept Mr. Scott’s growling vocal style alive ever since.

More recently AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young retired due to dementia, his nephew Stevie Young stepping into the elder statesman of rock’s well worn sneakers. Also missing from this tour is drummer Phil Rudd, who joined the group in 1975, and who has been battling legal challenges in his home country of New Zealand. In July, Rudd was sentenced to eight months of home detention.

One of the most remarkable concerts this reviewer has ever covered, the duo of Brian Johnson and Angus Young is all that is really needed. After shooting the late 1990’s appearance from the pit, my voice raised to Minnie Mouse levels, something not realized as I met the band after the show.

However the ear damage was well worth the chance to see Angus, arguably one of rock n’ roll’s most memorable guitarist, shred the evening and my hearing.

Despite the band’s member setbacks, Angus Young, remarking to Rolling Stone about the band’s challenges, said they would make the most of 2015 and future touring. “Every year has its ups and downs, I suppose, but it’s been pretty rough, yeah,” he told Rolling Stone. “But we will definitely be out there. We are committed to do this.”
