OXFORD, Miss., May 8, 2015 – Author, speaker, consultant, Communities Digital News and One America News Network contributor T.J. O’Hara joins Graceland with Jennifer Meadows this week.
We discuss the recent terror attack on the Pamela Geller-hosted Draw Mohammed event in Texas. It was intentionally provocative, but not surprisingly still protected under the First Amendment.
O’Hara tries to set CNN’s Chris Cuomo straight on exactly what the First Amendment says, or, perhaps, what it doesn’t say – it is remarkably free of any reference to so-called “hate speech.” We discuss why some in the media think that speech that may be offensive to Muslims should somehow be restricted.
In our second half hour, Charles Johnson III joins us to provide his thoughts on the Texas shooting and calls for free speech restrictions. Switching gears a bit, he also offers some comments on the cycle of poverty within our inner cities.
Be sure to join Jennifer Meadows, Curtice Mang and Charles Johnson III for a very informative and vigorous conversation on recent events.Click here for reuse options!
