In an exclusive interview with Communities Digital News, Waikiki store manager Lauren Easley gave us the lowdown on the entrepreneurial zen behind the superlative beauty of 2Chillies Swimwear products. She also offered her helpful tips for getting into summer style.
Danny de Gracia: Lauren, tell our readers a little bit about the 2Chillies business in Hawaii and its product line.
Lauren Easley: 2Chillies Swimwear opened their first international store on April 25, 2013 in world renowned Waikiki Beach. Hailing from the Gold Coast of Australia, the company was known as a wholesaling business until this last year when they embarked on a new journey of growing their retail footprint.
The success of 2Chillies lies with their spirited prints, attention to detail and designs to accommodate every body type.
DDG: You seem to be a very motivated, proactive, details-oriented type of person, and you’ve been in modeling yourself, so you already have expertise in what looks fashionable. Was that a key consideration in joining 2Chillies? What would you say is the vision that got you started?
Easley: I believe that when you represent a brand, you must embody all aspects of their vision. Their vision was like a missing creative puzzle piece in my diverse lifestyle and it nearly stopped me dead in my tracks.
To say that you have an interest in fashion or swimwear is one thing. But you must be able to identify trends, demands and also the customer’s perception of the brand in order to stay ahead of the game. Their vision and ambition is what caught my attention and that is when it all began.
DDG: What would you say are some of this year’s best fashion trends that women should get into style with? What are some of your favorites?
Easley: Right now I am loving Indian and Moroccan influences, which are giving a color palette of oranges and lots of brights. Mixing a solid colored bikini bottom with a printed top is also a must.
From busy prints to wild color combinations, everything is pretty much acceptable this year. I’m also a big advocate for a cheeky fitting bikini bottom; 2Chillies designed their “Waikiki Pant” to meet the needs of a more daring girl.
DDG: What’s the secret to putting together a great outfit? I notice there’s a “wow factor” behind a lot of your fashion. What’s the secret to looking good and standing out in an exceptional way?
Easley: Having all the components of a well curated look can be simple with the right assistance. But what makes an individual stand out is their striking confidence.
A balanced lifestyle plays an important role unique to anyone. What pleases me most is that 2Chillies cares about fitting each of their valued customers, based off their needs and lifestyles, with a range of swimwear, and a full clothing line.
