WASHINGTON, November 21, 2017 – It’s holiday time again. That means U.S. markets will adjust their holiday trading schedule and settlement dates to accommodate our upcoming national festivities.
In this case, we’re talking about Thanksgiving Day (and weekend), 2017 edition. Here’s this year’s Turkey Day holiday trading schedule particulars:
Thanksgiving 2017: U. S. and Canadian Holiday Trading Schedule
U.S. Markets, Thursday, November 23, 2017: All U.S. markets (which include equity, option, and fixed income) are completely closed for trading in observance of our annual Thanksgiving Day holiday. “Completely” means Pre-Market session or After Hours trading session will also not be held.
U.S. Markets, Friday, November 24, 2017: The following abbreviated trading hours will be observed on “Black Friday”:
Pre-Market Trading takes place at its standard time (8:00 AM – 9:25 AM ET).
After Hours Trading will take place from 1:15 PM – 5:00 PM ET.
U.S. markets for trading in equities, option and exchange-listed corporate bonds close early at 1:00 PM ET.
All other U.S. fixed income issues close trading early at 2:00 PM ET.

Canadian Markets, Thursday, November 23, 2017: Canadian markets will be open as usual on Thursday, November 23, 2017. But new orders or change orders placed after the close of U.S. Markets on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 will route to Canadian exchanges on Friday, November 24, 2017.
Canadian Markets, Friday, November 24, 2017: Canadian markets are open. However, new or change orders entered after the early close of U.S. Markets on Friday, November 24, 2017 will route to Canadian exchanges on Monday, November 27, 2017.
