WASHINGTON, December 30, 2014 — Sadiq Gillani, the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Lufthansa Group Airlines, is on a mission to end nerve-racking user experiences with air travel. Gillani has developed a new application, available for both iOS and Android cell phones, aimed at improving the travel experience for those flying on Lufthansa.
“Lufthansa’s attitude towards a hassle-free travel experience is a design that will put you at ease and make sure you are enjoying the journey of flying effortlessly,” Gillani told CDN.
During a conversation in Millbrae, in Southern California, Gillani explained some of the goals of Lufthansa Airlines. He spoke extensively about their upcoming app. “Innovation and digitalization will revolutionize the world of travel when flying,” he said.
He explained the process of developing the app, and the many benefits it will provide airline users. The app, says Gillani, will become a trusted and essential travel partner. “Our goal when flying with Lufthansa,” he said with some pride, “is to provide the ultimate flight partnership by interaction of the user app experience with a touch of your phone.”
Gilliani knows a little bit about travel. He has visited over 117 countries his passion for travel is boundless. He wants others to discover the joys of traveling. His goal is to make it effortless and available at the touch of a finger. When it goes to market, this app will be integrated into the full services offered by Lufthansa.
Here’s how it will work.
You book your flight with the app. From the moment you book until the moment you land, the app provides you with clear destination information. It notifies your loved ones when you arrive. If you lose your luggage, the app will track it. If there are problems at immigration control or at customs, an alert will be sent to your phone.
Now the largest airline in Europe in number of passengers carried and in the size of its fleet when combined with those of its subsidiaries, Lufthansa is seeking to expand its already well-regarded service and flying experience to offer something more than fluffy pillows and free movies. Gilliani’s app will provide a new level of service with the mere touch of a cell phone button.
Lufthansa’s new app is an illustration of how proactive companies can earn points with customers and find new ways to expand their services. By developing these technologies, firms can show that they are serious about developing long-term relationships with customers. Putting it all in an iOS and Android cell phone app provides easy customer access, and that makes it easier for customers to return.
Lufthansa’s app helps the airline provide the sort of whole travel experience that makes flying easier to enjoy. Lufthansa hopes it will put them a step ahead of their competition.
