WASHINGTON, March 11, 2018: – For most in the news and entertainment industries, not to mention Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, the nation entered the “apocalypse” zone the moment Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton to win the presidency. But not to worry. You can count on America’s left-coast retailing giant Costco to ride to the rescue.
Costco: Helping you survive the Trump “apocalypse”
Big-box store Costco is offering the well-to-do lefty prepper a survival kit. And it will set those preppers back by only $6,000, a sum they can well afford. The “1-YEAR Premium Food Kit” promises to provide needed “grains, fruits, vegetables, proteins, dairy and more.”
Each kit provides 36,000 servings and averaging 2,000 calories per day. The 1-year package provides for a family of four for one full year.
Even better, all those nifty nutrients are contained in 600 #10-sized cans, which hold roughly 109 ounces each. In addition, these freeze-dried offerings can sit in the safety of a prepper’s Trump-proof, underground bunker for up to 30 years.
Oddly, there is only one customer review on the Costco website. It praises the warehouse club for packaging these morsels in “discreet plain brown boxes.” One suspects this is a plus. That’s likely because it prevents nosey neighbors from noticing you’ve been driven completely mad by Trump Derangement Syndrome.
CNN – MSNBC: Viewers tuning them out
And this expression of the media/entertainment field’s mental anguish is starting to affect and alarm its audience.
Trump-hating, fake news leader CNN saw a 19 percent drop in viewership in February, falling behind little-watched MSNBC.
Not surprisingly, the recently televised 90th Academy Awards saw its lowest ratings ever.
Dear Trump-deranged leader
Worst still, even Trump-deranged dictator Kim Jong-un has stopped threatening to nuke our Pacific island territories. Instead, he says he’ll negotiate with the man who warned a Norkie attack on America or its allies “will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.”
It seems clear even “rocket man” thinks Trump will outlive the so-called “resistance.” They still desperately cling to the hope Hillary Clinton and Vladimir Putin’s pre-fab Steele dossier will bring about Trump’s impeachment for “collusion.”
With whom, it’s not exactly clear.
Meanwhile, the government report that says U.S. employers created 313,000 jobs for the month of February, shows the revived economic confidence generated by Trump’s tenure as president so far. Those #NeverTrumpers are getting sick of all the winning.
A bunker mentality
As a result, in a moral and social sense, all the above is somewhat akin to nuclear explosion for Trump resisters.
They should heed the words of Harry Baldwin (Ray Milland) from the 1962 doomsday film “Panic in The Year Zero”:
“The unknown has always been man’s greatest demoralizer. Now maybe we can cope with this by maintaining our sense of values, by carrying out our daily routine, the same as we always have… These concessions to civilization are important. They are our links to reality, and because of them we might be… less afraid.”
Imagine sitting in your underground bunker, fortified against a Trumpian Armageddon. You are comforted by a framed photo of Barack Obama mounted to the concrete wall. Finally, you can revel in the calm that soothes the sum of all Trump-generated fears.
It puts you in a better mood as you crack open and enjoy a massive can of Costco’s freeze-dried raspberries.
And time to enjoy a few flicks:
