Why are we so surprised at the attacks in Brussels? We were warned

Unfortunately, there was nothing surprising about the terrorist attacks in Belgium.

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, March 22, 2016 – The only thing surprising about the terrorist attacks in Brussels is the shock that it happened.

If you take a bundle of dynamite and strategically place it where it can do a lot of damage, then back off a hundred yards and light the fuse, it may take a while but, eventually it will blow up.

That is what Europe and the United States under Barack Obama have been doing for years…playing with dynamite.

The chaos is still in progress in Brussels with the usual inaccuracies and speculation from the early reports emanating from the scene. Also typical of the early analysis is the ever-present question the media asks which “Why did this happen?”

Those who are honest already know the reason “why it happened” but there continues to be, as always, the other side of the equation which warns us not to “overreact.”

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There is plenty more coming and, perhaps, on a more frequent basis. Try as they may to claim that “all Muslims are not terrorists” or that “Islam is a religion of peace”, at some point the liberal politically correct crowd is going to have to come to the realization or admit that these criminal attacks are no longer rare. They have become part of the fabric of 21st century life in the West and, until somebody steps up and does something about it, other than talk, it is going to continue.

Like it or not, we have a problem with Islam. Writing for Breitbart News, James Delingpole summed it up in 15 words:

“Here is why this morning’s bombings happened: political Islam is at war with the West.” (emphasis added)

Shout it from rooftops with giant megaphones and it cannot be any more obvious, yet our president still refuses, and will continue, to accept that Islam is the culprit.

Terror attack leaves 31 dead in Belgium

Islamists know us better than we know ourselves. Complacency and looking the other way or refusing to admit the problem exists is NOT a solution. The longer the West continues to use idiomatic phrases like “we are not at war with Islam” the better the jihadis like it.

Even now, in the wake of the turmoil in Belgium, terrorist cells throughout the world are planning their next atrocity. Yet we continue to fail in the acknowledgement that the situation is bigger than we know.

Statue of charrred bodies at Dachau (Taylor)

At the site of the former German concentration camp in Dachau there is a black sculpture that, at first, appears to be a hodgepodge of intertwined metal. Closer inspection reveals that the statue is a depiction of charred human remains that represent those were inhumanely killed at the camp. Etched on the base of the sculpture, written in several languages, are the words “Never again.”

Everyone who passes nods and agrees in approval. And then they move on.

How quickly we forget. In just 70 years “never” has returned. A major difference between the Germany of the mid-20th century and the Islamism of today is that we could see the Germans, while the jihadists who live among us are, more often than not, invisible.

Combine that with an unwillingness to recognize the problem and, yep, we have a HUGE problem.

For now the media continues to talk and ask the same tired questions. At some point Barack Obama will take to the microphones to make another of his standard condemnation speeches.

An Islamist will not hide from his or her beliefs. It is all written down in a book called the Koran. The mission is obvious.

When was the last time a major city anywhere in the world was attacked by a Buddhist terrorist? No other religion on this planet can lay claim to as much devastation and destruction as Islam during the past 14 centuries.

Islamists may be “radical” but they ARE NOT “radicals.” They are following the tenets of their religion as it was taught by the Prophet Muhammad in the 7th century.

Words are no longer sufficient. The time has come for action. Unfortunately, Western leaders, including American president Barack Obama have no solutions. They have no answers. They continue to believe that if we “make nice” with Muslims they will suddenly have an epiphany and love us all.

Unfortunately, a new president, hopefully one who uses his fists instead of his mouth, will not take office for 10 months. During that time be prepared to experience more attacks, perhaps even on our own soil.

Mr. Obama will get around to working on it. Eventually. Right after he checks his NCAA brackets.
