New Year, same story as the Paris attack by jihadists repeats the Islamic narrative

LOS ANGELES, January 7, 2015 — Welcome to the new year. Welcome to radical Islam redux.

The Islamist version of, “If it’s Tuesday, it must be Belgium” came to Paris, and 2015 begins where 2014 ended — with violence.

This time radical Islamists murdered French satirists for printing cartoons depicting Islamists as violent. The Islamists responded with brutal violence, killing 12 people, including at least five of Charlie Hebdo’s staff.

The confirmed dead (pictured clockwise from top left) are editor in chief, Charb (Stéphane Charbonnier); cartoonists Jean Cabu, Georges Wolinski, Tignous and deputy chief editor, Bernard Maris.

The killers entered the Paris office of Charle Hebdo, which was under police protection, killing two police officers and ten other people, yelling Allah Ahkbar, and shouting “We’ve avenged the honor of the prophet!”

There is no need to repeat all of the points that are made every time there is an Islamists attack on Westerners. All of that is known.

Mentioning the Munich Olympics, Leon Klinghoffer, 9/11, 7/7 London, Bali, Madrid, and all of the other attacks will only speak to those who already understand the problem.

What matters now is whether those who have never understood violence finally do.

President Obama said, “Time and again, the French people have stood up for the universal values that generations of our people have defended.”

No. They have not. That is the precise problem. They may not be the “cheese-eating surrender monkeys” mocked by Homer Simpson, but they have not stood up against radical Islam. And they are now at war with Islam. What will they do?

President Obama has been aggressive with Predator drones, but he has absolutely refused to even mention radical Islam by name. After the Paris attacks, he spoke about “the hateful vision of these killers.”

He did not mention that the vision is an Islamist vision of a global Caliphate.

Secretary of State John Kerry calls climate change the biggest threat the world faces. He may wish to rethink that.

Words are useless at this point. What matters is what actions if any will be taken.

The Neocons are right. The soft leftist power diplomacy approach failed. The only way to stop radical Islam is to replace the naive children leading Western democracies with hard-edged Neoconservatives willing to do whatever it takes, from “coercive interrogation” to torture to profiling to stop evil dead in its tracks.

When the enemy is hacking off heads, it is acceptable to deprive them of Starbucks coffee, chilled champagne and brie cheese.

2015 went almost one week without a major terrorist attack. The level of reaction to the Paris terror attacks will determine whether the next 358 days of 2015 bring an ounce of tranquility or an increase in terror, particularly in Western nations.

Based on 2014, the Islamist terrorists have far more to be optimistic about than you and I.

As for ordinary citizens, there is only one way for those who do not own Predator drones to fight back. We must draw more cartoons, print more satire, and refuse to engage in self-censorship.

Otherwise the victims in Paris died in vain.
