GIVAT SHMUEL, Israel May 5, 2014 — When discussing Barack Obama and John Kerry’s policies regarding the Middle East, any person brave enough to speak out against the White House’s absurdly backwards beliefs and actions have been careful to allow for the possibly that just plain old ignorance has played a great part in the Administration’s failures. In fact, this very column received a comment recently by a reader that perfectly expressed this sentiment. Last month, thinkingabovemypaygrade wrote, “either the ignorance…or the willful blindness…of Pres. O and John Kerry…are staggering.”
Naturally, we want to believe that if our leaders act badly it is due to their lack of knowledge or preparation. To assume it is anything more than that is to insinuate that insidious mens rea exists. So why is it that more and more media figures, who must always parse their words carefully, are feeling increasingly comfortable labeling Barack Obama and John Kerry as anti-Semites of the highest order?
Perhaps a brief dip into some Middle Eastern current affairs can shed light on this new phenomenon.
This means that Barack Obama did, in fact, understand that the attack that left four Americans dead at the hands of Jihadi murderers was not a reaction to a YouTube video incriminating the Prophet Mohamad, but instead, in line with the consistent anti-Western and anti-Zionist ideology held by radical Islam. It stands to reason that Barack Obama his staff were and continue to be aware that Islamic radicals devoted to the cause want to kill Westerners regardless of internet videos, economic situations and any other silly excuses liberals cook up to justify their ever-erroneous worldview. If not, Obama would have done what he is notorious for doing; bowing his head, apologizing to the Jihadists and taking steps to compensate them for America’s shameful existence.
Obama’s utter lack of effort to negotiate with the animals responsible for the Benghazi attack only jives with the rest of his foreign policy if he believes that they are terrorists that cannot be spoken to because their hate is so strong that even Obama the Great couldn’t talk his way into an international Woodstock group hug this time. Therefore, the exposure of the Benghazi cover-up shows that even if he was ignorant of the world before taking office, Barack Obama learned on September 11, 2012 that Islamic terrorists do not want to negotiate and they do not want apologies; they want to kill.
Contrast that with the latest news breaking from the Obama State Department regarding the failed peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. As the negotiations hung by the thinnest of threads, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas announced that he would be signing a unity agreement with the Gaza-based terrorist group Hamas.
For those who know little about Hamas, the group, described succinctly in Caroline Glick’s brilliant new book, “The Israel Solution: A One State Plan for Peace in the Middle East” “was founded at the start of the Palestinian uprising against Israel in 1988. Like Fatah and the PLO, Hamas set out its ideology and aspirations in a founding document that calls for Israel’s destruction…Hamas calls for the eradication of Israel as part of a global Islamic imperialist movement whose aim is the restoration of the caliphate and the institution of global Islamic domination.”
Considering what Barack Obama learned in the Benghazi affair regarding gung-ho Jihadists hell-bent on Islamic ascendancy, it would be logical to assume POTUS instructed his Secretary of State, John Kerry, to express his unabashed fury with the Palestinian Authority for taking this tact and apologizing to Israel for forcing them to negotiate with previously-considered moderates who have now outed themselves as Israel-hating tyrants.
This, obviously, is not what happened. Instead, in a recent exclusive interview with the Israeli news outlet Ynet, a senior American officials involved in Secretary of State John Kerry’s peace push placed the blame for the talk’s failures squarely on the shoulders of Israel, citing, the issue of settlements.
In addition to a few hundred homes being tendered for construction in Gilo, an already Jewish suburb of Jerusalem, the official berated Israel as stupid, stating that, “The Jewish people are supposed to be smart; it is true that they’re also considered a stubborn nation. You’re supposed to know how to read the map: In the 21st century, the world will not keep tolerating the Israeli occupation.”
No mention was made of the Fatah-Hamas pact.
Just to be clear, when Israel announced its intention to one day build some apartments, Obama and Kerry issued the harshest of condemnations. However, as Mahmoud Abbas met with Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal in Doha to discuss a security clause in the agreement criminalizing security coordination with Israel, nothing but the crickets can be heard at the White House.
In the past, in efforts to salvage our hope in our elected leaders, we would reflexively conclude that Obama is probably just naïve about Islamic Jihad and their intentions. The new revelations with regard to Benghazi do not allow for that excuse to hold water anymore. Thus, the only conclusion that can be reached is that United States President Barack Obama is intentionally inciting against the Jewish State, despite the danger in which it places the citizens of Israel in.
Therefore, Benghazi does not just expose Obama as an incompetent commander-in-chief and a feeble-minded liberal but it outs him as a rabid anti-Semite.
Oh for the days when we thought our president was just a moron!Click here for reuse options!
