Just north of Bodega Bay along California’s famed Route 1 lies 10 miles of road that capture the imagination like no other place in California except Big Sur.

The Sonoma coast is a resplendent repository of some of nature’s finest scenery: towering cliffs, wide sand beaches, estuaries and rocky outcroppings, all a part of Sonoma Coast State Park.

The road twists and turns along some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable. There are numerous areas along the way to stop and take in the sights at scenic overlooks.

After a tumultuous journey along the magnificent Sonoma Coast the road turns inward to the lovely town of Jenner along the mouth of the Russian River, but that is a tale for another day.
