The treatise by Dr. Thomas Sowell promotes a well-reasoned opinion, but misses some key points.
WASHINGTON, Feb. 16, 2016 — The eminent Dr. Thomas Sowell has written a thoughtful article and posted it in the American Spectator, titled, “Tragedy and Choices: After Scalia, the Case for Cruz.”
This treatise expectedly promotes a well-reasoned opinion, but misses some key points.
Sowell makes the following statement, explaining one of his key concerns: “Whatever the achievements of anyone in some other field, we cannot afford a novice in the complex world of politics and government at a time of grave dangers at home and internationally.”
What America doesn’t need is another president who is a player in the “complex world of politics and government.” That world needs to be shaken up and returned to its constitutional limits. The federal government’s primary responsibility is to protect America and to ensure our liberty into the future.
That is the point of Carson’s candidacy. He has a deep understanding of the real world that the rest of us live in.
Carson would, without a doubt, appoint justices and judges with the same reverence for the Constitution that Justice Scalia had. That is essential to protect our freedoms.
While the dangers we presently face are great, thinking toward the future is also important.
Carson is the candidate who has the skill set to best handle the crises we don’t know about yet. His policies include plans to minimize and prevent crises from happening and aren’t solely focused on the troubles at hand.
Only Carson has talked about increasing the speed of technological advancement in the areas of cybersecurity and energy, preparing our military to face non-traditional warfare, and using more effective methods to teach our children, to name a few examples—all while adhering to our nation’s Constitution and Judeo-Christian principles. He is always thinking a few steps ahead, as a good surgeon (and billiards player) is trained to do. Please check out his policies at www.bencarson.com/issues.
Dr. Carson has been on the cutting edge of scientific advancements his whole career. He has a lifetime of experience making life and death decisions with wise counsel, but also quickly and decisively with his widely acknowledged intelligence, wisdom and self-control. Information must be continuously gleaned from many sources for any of the candidates. Skilled decision-making is the key.
Add to that Carson’s integrity, which is greatly lacking in all the other candidates, and we have the perfect candidate for such a time as this, and for the times to come.
My prayers are that Dr. Sowell and all voters wake up to this fact before it is too late.Click here for reuse options!
