One would think Western leaders would have more important things to discuss than Al Gore’s invisible friend “climate change.”

WASHINGTON, December 1, 2015 – One would think Western leaders would have more important things to discuss than Al Gore’s invisible friend “climate change.” And one would think French President François Hollande would be the first to say that an international conference meeting in his nation’s capital, where 130 died and more than 360 were wounded by radicalized ISIS-supporting European Muslim immigrants, should reschedule a silly United Nations conference on hot-air for a more light-hearted time in the distant future.

Ironically, it wasn’t ISIS militants who were the first to feel the wrath of Parisian authorities utilizing powers granted them under the French Assembly’s declared state of emergency. Instead, French police placed “24 [climate] activists under house arrest ahead of the summit saying they were suspected of planning violent protests,” said NBC News.

And what does it say about the strident and increasingly radicalized state of the Church of Climate Change that the twisted branch of Islam animating the actions of ISIS warriors in France is seen as less, well, radical.

In an address before the international gathering of climate neurotics, President Obama said, “I’ve come here personally, as the leader of the world’s largest economy and the second-largest [carbon] emitter, to say the United States of America not only recognizes our role in creating this problem, we embrace our responsibility to do something about it.”

That does not bode well for America.

I don’t mean rising temperatures, but America’s declining industrial output. As the “second largest emitter,” it’s obvious we Americans are falling behind.

According to the Federal Reserve, the month of October saw a decline in U.S. industrial output of 0.2 percent. “Capacity utilization, which measures slack across industrial firms, fell in October to 77.5 percent… before the 2007-2009 recession, capacity use typically hovered above 80 percent,” said the Wall Street Journal.

Meanwhile, the National Retail Federation reported that Black Friday shopping traffic dropped by 5.2 percent, while store and online spending declined “11 percent year over year,” The Street reported.

Our factories are producing less, jobs are few and far between, earnings are down as is spending, and America’s corporate taxes discourage business formation and expansion and encourage U.S. companies to reincorporate overseas.

Naomi Klein, author and member in good standing in the Church of Climate Change, writes in her book “This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. The Climate”:

“A 2011 survey by the U.N. Department of Economic and Social Affairs looked at how much it would cost for humanity to ‘overcome poverty, increase food production to eradicate hunger without degrading land and water resources, and avert the climate change catastrophe.’ The price tag was $1.9 trillion a year for the next forty years – and ‘at least one half of the required investments would have to be realized in developing countries.’”

That reminds me of remarks made by Dr. Donald Berwick, Obama’s former head of Medicare and Medicaid, before a meeting of health professionals of Britain’s socialized National Health Service:

“Any health care funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized, and humane must, must redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and less fortunate. Excellent health care is by definition redistributional,” said Dr. Berwick.

Obamacare has increased the cost of individual health care premiums, increased out-of-pocket medical deductibles for America’s middle class, dramatically increased the costs of the nation’s largest health insurer (UnitedHealth Group), who now threatens to drop the health coverage of a half-million Americans.

What a corrupt Democrat can teach a clueless GOP

But Obamacare is serving its primary function as a device to separate underemployed and underpaid working families from more of their shrinking incomes for redistribution to Democratic Party constituencies.

If, as Obama says, he is “the leader of the world’s largest economy” and “recognizes our role in creating this [climate change] problem,” how much of America’s dwindling wealth will he commit to redistribute as “our responsibility”?

“Climate change is no longer some far-off problem,” prophet-of-doom Obama told Rolling Stone, “it is happening here, it is happening now.”

This from the man who told Americans they should not “succumb to fear” while the streets of Paris ran red with blood.
