GIVAT SHMUEL, Israel, May 20, 2014 — Following Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas’s decision to walk away from peace negotiations and sign a unity agreement with the terrorist group Hamas, President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry have placed the blame for the breakdown of talks on Israel.
From the beginning of his first term, Obama has positioned himself squarely in the camp of the Islamic community, even when that meant embracing terrorist-dominated groups like the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the anti-Kaddafi rebels in Libya.
Similarly, Kerry has not backed down from his inflammatory remarks claiming that Israel is in danger of becoming an apartheid state if they do not acquiesce to anything and everything the PA asks for.
Aside from the always-brave former U.S. Representative and CDN colleague Allen West, no media coverage was given to a brilliant video released by the “Lend a Hand” foundation last month, titled “Great in Uniform.”
The video documents a program within the IDF which allows people with developmental disabilities to join the army and contribute to their nation. As West eloquently describes it, “what it shows is that the IDF understands the promise of being a victor, not a victim. This is about the realization that everyone can be a contributing member to the security of their nation, and the pride in one’s country and the honor of wearing a uniform conquers any perceived disadvantage.”
It is a beautiful example of Israel’s tremendous dedication to respect, inclusion and compassion.
Sadly, Obama, Kerry and the mainstream media make no mention at all of Israel’s inspiring human rights record.
The radical Islamic jihadists within the Palestinian Authority and Hamas have programs for people with disabilities as well.
On March 24, 2004 Hussam Abdo, a 16-year old with developmental disabilities was apprehended at an Israeli checkpoint near Nabulus. He had 18 pounds of explosives strapped to his body. Abdo’s brother told reporters that he had, at best, the mind of a 12-year old.
The IDF sent a robot to him with scissors that allowed him to cut off the vest, saving his own life, as well as the lives of the Israeli soldiers and Palestinians near the checkpoint.
According to a Ynet report at the time, Abdo told Israeli security officials that he was participating because he was promised 100 shekels and sex with virgins. Abdo was sent by al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, the military wing of Obama’s great peacemaker Mahmoud Abass’s Fatah party.
This is far from the only time radical Islamists have used children with disabilities to carry out bloody attacks on civilians. According to autopsies performed on suicide bombers, Dr. Yusef Yadgari of Kabul Medical University found that 80 percent of the people chosen to carry out suicide attacks in Afghanistan had a physical or mental disability. In one such attack on February 2008, a woman with a developmental disability detonated a bomb in an Iraqi market, killing 91 people.
Obama pulled out of Iraq and Afghanistan, apologizing with every step of retreat, and he continues to demand that Israel negotiate with Abbas and the PA.
What kind of liberal takes the side of those who abuse and kill people with disabilities?
Obama’s hate for Israel must be so strong that he is able to overlook the fact that most Islamic organizations and governments he supports, in clear opposition to the Jewish State, have a record of human rights violations longer than 100 ObamaCare bills combined.
The Israeli people honor and respect life. They have created technologies, sent soldiers to disaster zones and even medically treat their enemies in order to save lives.
The Palestinian community is, at best, apathetic to terrorist use of children with disabilities being used as suicide bombers, and those who are opposed do not have the power or courage to speak out against it.
If Obama doesn’t want to go down as the US President who supported some of the most brutal regimes in history it is time he abandon his anti-Zionist obsession and once and for all get behind the State of Israel, the only ruling-power in the region that loves and cherishes life more than death.Click here for reuse options!
