“Education is useless without the Bible.”
WASHINGTON, February 16, 2016 – “Education is useless without the Bible.” Too bad the political pundits and educated elitists in this country don’t remember Noah Webster’s words. If you listen to the “mainstream media,” the famous lexicographer who was sometimes called the “Father of American Scholarship and Education,” seems to be as outdated as our founding fathers and well . . . the Bible. No wonder Dr. Ben Carson is under attack.
Dr. Carson dared to quote the Constitution at the end of a recent debate, and was therefore immediately laughed at and dismissed by many in the media. Not by God, though, and not by a majority of Americans who hopefully step out of the “silent majority.”
This country was formed by founding fathers who were conservative Christians. They understood that, “Freedom is not a gift bestowed upon us by other men, but a right that belongs to us by the laws of God and nature,” as eloquently stated by Benjamin Franklin.
One social studies/history textbook used by elementary schools in Vermont is proof of the depravity of our classroom lessons. Barely mentioning the values that made this country great, the textbooks expound on today’s “important” people. There is more in that social studies textbook about Oprah Winfrey than any of our founders.
The single paragraph allocated in the textbook to President Calvin Coolidge demonstrates the indoctrination of our youngsters. It says that Coolidge lowered taxes for his “friends in big business.” That message subliminally prompts class warfare, with conservative leaders as the bad guys. Of course, it left out the fact that the federal government received more than twice the income from capital gains taxes as a result of lowering the capital gains tax.
Indeed, according to the CATO Institute, “. . . the across-the-board income tax rate cuts of the 1920s resulted in greater tax payments and a larger tax share paid by those with high incomes—jumping in one year from $300 million to $700 million per year with virtually no inflation.”
Such facts should be shouted to the masses. So why are they not being thrust into the forefront by the mainstream press? You would think that if they truly want the government to do more for poor people, they would embrace ideas that give the government more wealth to “spread around.” You would think they would embrace political candidates who espouse the ideas of freedom, the Constitution, and more dollars in America’s coffers. You would think they would support candidates like Dr. Ben Carson.
