MILLINOCKET, Maine, September 21, 2014 — A gathering of the climate change faithful and their Elmer Gantry-style leaders occurred in New York City, Europe and Australia this past Sunday.
In The Big Apple, the Peoples Climate March, which was touted by organizers as the biggest protest of its kind, wound through Manhattan. Notables attending the march/demonstration included UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo and Al Gore. The U.S. Senate and the New York City Council had members in attendance, as well.
The problem is, their movement is based on a scam. Not only is the science to support catastrophic climate change highly suspect, the offered solution is specious as well. The UN wants to have the right to collect revenue from developed countries in the guise of helping undeveloped countries.
Left liberal progressives decry the corporatist, crony capitalist mentality. Have they considered that if the UN is given authority to collect taxes, it will be the largest crony corporation in the world?
The rallying point for most climate change proponents is the idea that we can wean ourselves off of fossil fuels without going all-in on nuclear. It’s a naive notion. Wind and solar energy are still many decades away from replacing oil, gas and coal.
Even if we could magically convert to total wind and solar power and eliminate carbon emissions, the hucksters would still be there, offering futures contracts on sun and wind.
