O’Reilly fans furious at Fox for firing him

It's funny how, one by one, popular and effective conservative reporters, pundits and commentators are getting sent into permanent exile, almost as if by design. Is Ann Coulter next?

WASHINGTON, April 20, 2017 — The reaction to word that Fox News had fired its longtime star, top commentator and moneymaker Bill O’Reilly was fast and furious. O’Reilly’s legion of fans are outraged at the increasingly wobbly conservative cable network’s swift dumping of their top star due to new allegations of his inappropriate conduct with the opposite sex.

Leftist trolls and pundits alike have rejoiced in the ouster of O’Reilly, long the the mighty engine driving the Fox News Network’s initial and ongoing domination of the cable news airwaves. But what’s done is done, and O’Reilly wasn’t really given a chance to answer these charges before he was dumped, meaning that at least for now, we’re left with half the story.

It’s hard to say what’s true and not true about these latest allegations concerning O’Reilly’s latest real or imagined sexual peccadillos on and off the set. In fact, it’s possible that there’s more afoot here than is readily apparent. But we duly note the following:

  1. If a rabidly pro-Democrat, pro-left member of the so-called mainstream media were confronted with similar allegations, you’d never hear a public report concerning these allegations.
  2. If that same rabidly pro-Democrat, pro-left member of the so-called mainstream media were actually guilty as charged of such allegations, he (always a he) would be rescued by an armada of corporate lawyers who’d see that the real or alleged victim of sexual improprieties was shut up, paid off, and would never be heard from again. (See also, Bill Clinton.)

Deservedly or not, O’Reilly, becomes just the latest scalp in the left-wing media’s witch hunt, whose Alinsky-style aim is to target and destroy effective and popular conservative commentators and media hosts, who are few in number to begin with. O’Reilly’s fresh body bag joins those of his former boss at Fox, Roger Ailes; writer, pundit and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza; and flamboyant conservative gay blade Milo Yianoppoulis. Will Ann Coulter be the next target marked for exile and permanent destruction.

This never happens to Democrats, by the way.
