HOLLYWOOD, Calif., January 7, 2014 – “This is your chance to earn that look in your daughter’s eyes,” intones Michael Douglas, “to become the hero she already thinks you are.” That’s the opening line of the new “Ant Man” film, set to open in theaters this July 17.

For those not in the know, “Ant Man” is the latest in a seemingly endless line of Marvel superheroes debuting on the silver screen. Starring Paul Rudd in the title role as the weirdly-named superhero (aka Scott Lang), the Payton Reed-directed film will also feature Douglas in the role of aging scientist Dr. Henry Pym— the original Ant Man—as well as Bobby Cannavale, Martin Donovan, Judy Greer, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena and Corey Stoll.

Stalled for a period of time due to “creative differences,” the film was finally green-lighted in 2014 and wrapped filming in December.
