One of the few characters that moved from JAG to NCIS, after 13 seasons its time to say goodbye to Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly)
WASHINGTON, May 17, 2016 – After 13 seasons of “NCIS”, Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) has decided it’s time to hand in his badge and gun. Weatherly, who portrayed the loveable DiNozzo on the popular crime drama, announced his decision a few months ago on twitter.
Weatherly is one of the few stars to have appeared in “Jag”, the show that “NCIS” spun off from. Weatherly has expressed that he is open to the possibility of returning to make appearances in future seasons.
During the 13 seasons, Weatherly grew along with show, becoming a leading star on the show as well as executive producer a role he also holds on the most recent “NCIS” spinoff “NCIS: New Orleans.” On NCIS, DiNozzo has survived the bubonic plague and countless terrorist bombings. We also saw the softer side of DiNozzo, as he spent several seasons, trying to reconnect with his estranged father. DiNozzo also suffered the pains of trying to find the right girl but always failing to do so.
Will the show let him find love tonight?
Tonight marks the last elevator ride for Tony DiNozzo. But we will see Michael Weatherly again as he is working with Dr. Phil McGraw on a film about the early years of the American television personality, author, psychologist, and television host
