Arena Stage to host Military Thanksgiving and Show Friday

WASHINGTON, November 26, 2014 – As a public service, CDN is reprinting below a news release from Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announcing its Fourth Annual Military Thanksgiving and Performance event, to be held this Friday (the day after Thanksgiving), November 28, 2014.

This free event, to be held at Arena’s Mead Center in Southwest DC. Tickets are being distributed as indicated in the release: 

WHAT: In gratitude for their service, Arena Stage is inviting wounded warriors, servicemen and women and their families to a complimentary dinner and performance of Fiddler on the Roof at the Mead Center for American Theater on Friday, November 28. Arena Stage is working primarily through the USO-Metro to distribute the tickets irrespective of rank. Additional tickets are distributed through the Washington DC-Virginia Medical Center Caregiver Support Program, the Southeast Veterans Service Center and Access Housing, Inc. It is anticipated that about 200 servicemen and women and their families will experience this special evening.

The event’s featured speaker is Rear Admiral Markham K. Rich, Commandant of Naval District Washington and Deputy Commander of Joint Forces Headquarters National Capital Region, and the evening will also feature remarks from Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and Lawrence Duncan III, Vice President for Federal and State Government Relations and PAC Affairs at Lockheed Martin, Washington Operations.

5:30 p.m.: Cocktails and string quartet performance

6:00 p.m.: Dinner prepared and served by Ridgewells Catering, presentation of the colors, National Anthem performance and remarks

8:00 p.m.: Performance of Fiddler on the Roof
